The KSOP GGPoker Rio de Janeiro was a huge success, and several well-known players kicked off the overall rankings with a strong showing. Yet, the circuit’s Ranking Top 36 competition, in which the best 36 players from the previous stage battle for a 0KM vehicle, has become a tradition in only the last year. The KSOP Special at Balneário Cambori will feature fierce competition.
The event will be played in a shootout style, where the winner of each of the six tables will automatically advance to the final table. Peterson Machado, a tournament veteran who has won two deal prizes, now sits atop the all-time leaderboard. The Rio native had another successful outing on “home ground,” scoring 1,927.81 points.
Meanwhile, Juan Sebastian Fonseca and Jorge Osuna, a Colombian team, made a fantastic first appearance at the KSOP GGPoker. The first one finished second in the Main Event, earning 1,607.49 points and a passport stamp. Whereas the latter tacked on 1,567.03 points, enough for two second-place finishes and eighth place in the main competition.
